From Sapa to Dien Bien Phu. A ten hours long trip with a terrible minibus. We are now near to China border. Beautiful view and horrible road. Around us there are mountains, rivers, forests.
In Dien Bien Phu nobody speaks english. No tourists, no restaurants, only rain and fog… fantastic.
12 - 13 august - Dien Bien Phu
Today we go trekking in Sapa valley. H’mong villages. Beautiful place and simple and kind people. Very poor but proud. They can’t write nor read but they speak a good english learned in the streets…
11 august - rice field around Sapa
Arrived in Sapa this morning around 7 a.m. Probably tomorrow we’ll go trekking to the villages of h’mong tribes. Today we just walk around town.
Yesterday night we went to the water puppet theatre. it’s an ancient vietnamese tradition. Interesting, a little sleepy, though
Today we walked around Hanoi and this evening at 9 p.m. we head to Sapa by train. Wagon-lit 400 km, 20 euro! Cheap!
8 agosto - Hanoi
Arrived in Hanoi 24 hours ago. Hanoi is chaos! Very, very hot and humid. We are now ready to start the vietnamese adventure!

Tomorrow 06/08/09 we fly from Turin to Paris… and then… Hanoi (11 1/2 hours flight)
